Kane Silom

Kane Silom-Professional Headshot
“Change is hard and leaders and governments must take the community with them on their journey. My work at Consulum allows me to help governments develop and deliver an integrated agenda that directs leaders and organisations for the successful delivery of their objectives with maximum impact. That is incredibly rewarding.”

Kane is a policy communications strategist in Consulum’s Integrated Government Advisory Practice.

He provides high level strategic advice on the formation of policy and helps governments align policy, strategy and communications through systems that drive stakeholder engagement and the coordination of decisions across government departments and organisations.

Having led media and communications for federal budgets, election campaigns and national policy initiatives, he has deep insight into the workings of news organisations and cross platform message amplification and the capabiltiies and structures that must be deployed for policy acceptance, delivery and, consequently, success.

Prior to joining Consulum, Kane spent 13 years working in senior positions in the Australian Government. His most recent role was Director of Communications to the Treasurer and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party. Whilst in this role, he led media and communications for four federal budgets and the nation’s economic response to COVID-19. While working in Australian politics he developed strategy for economic media and communications on five election campaigns. Prior to a career in government Kane worked as a print and television journalist in Australia.
