John provides high-level counsel to government leaders to enhance the impact of their work in the areas of policy development and implementation, and communications. He has expertise in trade promotion, aviation and multilateral policy formulation and implementation.
Previously, he led trade promotion across Asia and the Middle East as a New Zealand diplomat.
John also served as a senior New Zealand Treasury advisor, counselling ministers on issues relating to energy, climate change and natural resources. Prior to that, he led New Zealand’s climate finance negotiations at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
