About the role

Consulum is looking to hire a Finance officer on Temp basis in Bahrain to support accounting operations, such as,maintaining records of invoices, employee reimbursements, payments and transactions, preparing accounts payable and accounts receivable and keep filling systems up to date.

Key responsibilities

• Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.

• Supports the smooth running of the finance department, exerting diligent financial process

control and ensuring efficiency and resilience to growth

• Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial

business transactions.

• Ensure expense invoices are coded to projects and accounted accurately

• Pre-audits, verifies, and processes employee expense claims, reviewing company’s expense

policy

• Monitor the accounts payable (AP) to process supplier payments as per agreed terms &

conditions

• Identifying and resolving supplier queries

• Ensure all supplier documentation is on file for onboarding

• Reconcile and coordinate all travel related expenditure, ensuring accurate coding and valid

invoices

• Coordinate with different departments in the company to obtain necessary approval on the

invoices.

• Monitoring the aged debtors schedule, reconcile and coordinate the collection of client

payments and alerts Finance Manager to overdue amounts

• Update billing schedules, identify and resolve client invoice queries.

• Prepare and maintain accurate intercompany transactions and invoicing

• Verify and reconcile company credit cards

• Compute taxes owed/due and prepare VAT return, ensure accurate recording and reporting

• Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules

• Calculate monthly exchange rates variations

• Manage petty cash disbursement, maintain petty cash register and verification.

• Monthly reconcile WIP and client budget management

• Maintain prepayment schedule

Essential skills and attributes
Skills

• Accounting or finance graduate with 2-3 year’s experience as an accountant or in similar field

• Experience with general ledger functions and strong attention to detail.

• Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping terminology and practices.

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

• Attention to detail

• Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.

• Ability to multi-task is an asset.

• Experience working to tight reporting deadlines

• Flexibility and adaptability

• Focus on quality, discretion and confidentiality

• Excellent communications skills (written and spoken English)

• MS Office with sound Excel skills.

• Exposure to SAGE
