About James

James has worked with large multinational businesses developing campaigns to successfully impact government policy on issues from international trade and foreign policy to financial regulation.

He has worked with Governments and state-owned enterprises to engage stakeholders, drive investment, manage reputation and build international relationships to support negotiations on issues such as EU accession.

He has a wide range of experience, from writing speeches for presidents and prime ministers to developing election campaign strategies driven by research and data for political parties to building and leading large teams to deliver specific campaign outcomes.

James has worked extensively in the global extractive industries. He has worked with sovereign companies to help manage reputation and increase access to global capital markets, as well as build long term investment relationships, helping countries unlock long term resource potential.

He has helped manage community conflict and crisis situations with some of the largest international mining companies and advised CEOs, Boards, and heads of communication on communications strategy and how to target government, investment, public, civil society and industry stakeholders effectively.

James studied at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, achieving a post-graduate (Honours) degree in Psychology.
