Paul is an economic development and air route development specialist with 25 years’ experience and proven track record of accomplishments in both the private and public sectors across the world.

 

Paul leads the air route development team in the competiveness practise based in Cape Town South Africa.

He worked for 13 years at Schiphol Area Development Company where he was responsible for the international marketing and positioning of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and its region on the global stage.

Paul started the first office of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) on the African continent. NFIA is the official investment promotion agency (IPA) for the Netherlands and is part of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.

Since 2015 he is the project lead for the Cape Town Air Access project. A public private initiative to grow the network of Cape Town International Airport. Within 5 years he assisted the airport to double its international seat capacity by adding 19 new international routes. For these accomplishments the project was awarded the Overall Winner Route Development Africa Award 2018 and 2019.
